Description

eazy CWT-NN is an effective multifunctional water treatment designed especially for medium and high speed marine diesel engines protecting them from both corrosion and hard water scale. Its unique formulation produces a combination of nitrite free properties with low foaming tendencies and the ability to protect a variety of non ferrous metals.

Product has no detrimental effects on non-metallic system components such as seals, glands, hoses or gaskets and is compatible with glycol-based antifreeze products.

Application

Product is an effective corrosion inhibitor for marine circulating cooling water systems and is suitable for a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials including copper and aluminium based alloys. It also outperforms nitrite-based fluids when in contact with mild steel and cast iron.

Directions

Prior to use, the cooling system should be drained and flushed with fresh water, be chemically cleaned if contaminated and any sacrificial anodes removed as they will be unnecessary in systems protected by the product and may even cause undesirable deposition.

Dosage
Good quality fresh or distilled water should be used to fill the cooling water system and if necessary the required amount of ethylene glycol based antifreeze. After circulating for a few minutes add the recommended dosage of 25 litres per tonne of system capacity (2.5%) into a suitable point in the cooling system and continue circulation for at least 30 minutes to establish the protective film.

Testing and Control
Hardness whilst acceptable should not exceed 170ppm and chlorides no greater than 100ppm or as otherwise recommended by the engine manufacturer.

Product has been tested to IP 287 Corrosion Test at 2.5%BP
